CHURCH FARM HOUSE A drive past a unique thatched wall and through a field reveals Church Farm House, a lovely 15th century tithe barn with Georgian additions. Attractively furnished rooms, with well-loved furniture and large, comfortable sofas give it a real lived-in feel. In the Main House there is a Tudor Hall, with an original flagstone floor and a Broadwood baby grand piano. There is accommodation in a converted coach house, and a small housekeeper’s cottage situated adjacent to the main house, which are very suitable for families. All bedrooms have lovely views over the extensive gardens. A wide variety of birds, both rare and regular visitors, are encouraged to flourish here. The peaceful garden has mature, spreading trees, under which daffodils gleam in the spring, a croquet lawn for the competitive, an unheated swimming pool for the brave and hardy and a secret tree house for children and squirrels provide something for everyone. The location Church Farm is in the heart of beautiful Wessex, within easy reach of the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, Stonehenge and Oxford. London is just an hour away in the car and Ascot, Windsor and the Test Valley are also an easy drive. Both Heathrow and Gatwick Airports are no more than an hour away.
